This interview with Oliver Sacks was a delight. Ever since seeing "Awakenings" with Robyn Williams and then reading The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat: And Other Clinical Tales
," I've been fascinated with this neurologist. Over the next few days we'll post the segments of this interview and you'll become better acquainted with this man. Among his comments about his father's devotion to Judaism, "But I never knew what my father believed!" This was another way of seeing, his father's faith was devout but he never explained how it related to everyday life. Sacks also makes some dismissive comments about intelligent design. An atheist, off the air Sacks told me he was out of town on 9/11 and somewhat inexplicably found himself visiting a synagogue when returning to NYC.
