Rekindling the Intellectual, Spiritual, Creative legacy of Christians in Culture

CWcrowndivinefeminine Dr. Dave Nienhuis, theologian at Seattle Pacific University, and Rev. Karen Ward, pastor of the emergent Church of the Apostles, and TKM host, Dick Staub, respond to Margaret Starbird's theories about Mary Magdalene's marriage to Jesus in segment two. This The Kindlings Muse podcast explores the basis for her conclusions and why she thinks it is essential to reinstate the feminine in Christianity. The "Da Vinci Code” brought into popular consciousness this idea that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, who carried his child. Margaret Starbird's "The Woman and the Alabaster Jar" was one of Dan Brown's sources. (27 Minutes)

  1. Thanks for a great podcast. I feared it might be heavy-handed, but it wasn’t. Rev. Ward hit the nail on the head, the solution is going back to the original texts, there we see within the context they were written, that it is the adherents not the authors who are sexist.
