Rekindling the Intellectual, Spiritual, Creative legacy of Christians in Culture

Dear Friend of The Kindlings,
We wanted to provide a brief update and invitation, as well as an answer to a common question about donations.
Since its inception, The Kindlings has had a close partnership with Orcas Island Community Church (OICC).  As a result of our decision to cancel KindlingsFest this summer, OICC has decided to take advantage of the fact that a number of Kfest speakers and attendees had already made plans to be on Orcas.  They have decided to host SummerFest a small, 3-day event (July 29-31st) similar to the WinterFest event that they have hosted for the past few years.  This event may interest you, and we encourage you to visit their website for more details about SummerFest with Malcolm Guite, Jerry Root, Stephen Newby and Jeff Johnson.
Since there will likely be a number of our stakeholders on the island for this event, we have decided to hold a time of discussion and prayer for The Kindlings on Thursday, July 28th, from 1pm-5pm, and we would like to invite you to participate.  Please register here  if you are able to attend.  Since we are interested in the thoughts and feedback from each of you, regardless if you can join this meeting or not, please email us at if you would be willing to provide some written feedback via a survey (or otherwise) that we will email to you in preparation for the meeting on July 28th.
Lastly, a number of you have asked if you should continue your donations to The Kindlings during this time of sabbatical.  Of course, this is always your decision, but we certainly still have some minor operational costs even now, and we would encourage you to consider maintaining your donations while we earnestly consider, in the company of friends, what is the best long-term future for this movement that we all love.
As before, please reach out to us if you have questions or feedback,
Grace and Peace,
The Kindlings Board
